Five pages. You bring the words.

The same build system and the same standard as the flagship, at £995, because you write the copy and I structure, edit and build around it. Rough notes are fine.

If you write your own words.

You know what you want to say, or it is already written down somewhere

Five pages covers it: home, what you do, proof, about, contact

You would rather spend the difference on something else

When this is the wrong choice.

You want it written for you

If writing it is the part you’d rather not do, the Starter will stall there. That’s the case for having it written for you, on the Business Website.

Your site already brings in business

Replacing a site that currently produces enquiries or bookings is the one situation where a cut-down scope is a false economy. That needs the discovery and the competitor review.

You have a lot to show, and it changes

A list you want to add to yourself every month — projects, case studies, anything that keeps growing — needs the CMS collection. With fixed pages every update comes back through me, which is slower than doing it yourself.

Five pages doesn’t cover it

Six services, three locations and a gallery won’t fit five pages, and squeezing it in makes the site harder to use. If that’s where you are, I’ll say so and quote the £1,995 Business Website instead.

Why it costs less.

You supply the copy

You write what your business does, in your own words, and I structure it, edit it and fit it to the pages. Rough is fine — bullet points, a voice note typed up or an old brochure will do. On the Business Website I write it from a discovery session. Writing it is the single largest part of that job.

No CMS collection

Your services and other pages are built as fixed pages. They look the same to a visitor. They are edited by asking me rather than by logging in, so nothing is set up for you to manage.

One revision round

You see the build once, send everything you want changed in one go, and I make those changes. The Business Website has two consolidated rounds and a fuller discovery stage before any of it starts.

Three projects, and how I work.

Pause & Bloom Yoga

Built from nothing for a new yoga teacher in Skipton. As at August 2026 it ranks first on Google for yin yoga Skipton, slow flow yoga Skipton and private yoga classes in Skipton, measured in Google Search Console.

Alley Cats Ripon

A rescue that ran entirely on social media, now a site the volunteers run themselves.

Trail Running Planet

My own platform: 188 mapped routes across 29 UK regions, structured rather than sitting in flat pages.

The Starter is built to the same standard as all of these. The difference is who writes the words.

What £995 covers.

A 45-minute scoping call: who you want to reach, and what you want them to do next

Five pages, plus privacy and cookie pages, which do not count towards the five

Your words structured, edited and laid out; you verify all facts, prices and claims

Mobile-first build on the same consistent set of page layouts

An enquiry form, click-to-call, and a link to your existing booking system where you have one

Local-search foundations, page titles, schema and a Google Business Profile check

Content written as readable text and marked up to current standards, so search engines and AI assistants can find and understand what you do

Redirects from your old pages, if this replaces an existing site

GA4, Search Console, a UK cookie banner and enquiry or booking tracking

One consolidated revision round, full checks before launch and 30 days’ support

Nothing about the build itself is cut. It is the same set of page layouts, the same mobile-first standards, the same accessibility and metadata work and the same consent-before-analytics setup. A smaller site is not a worse-made one.

Payment, in two stages.

50% to book

50% to book

£497.50 on acceptance, which reserves your slot in the schedule.

50% on completion

After final checks, but before publication or project transfer.

The price

£995 is a final price.

What isn’t included.

Copywriting from scratch; commercial discovery and the local competitor review; a CMS collection you can edit yourself; a second revision round; the 90-day review; booking-engine procurement, setup or migration; ecommerce, which is a separate Shopify build; branding; photography; bulk content entry; custom software; ongoing SEO. Anything outside this page is quoted separately, in writing, before work starts.

Photography is the one people are most often surprised by. I’ll tell you exactly what images the site needs and what each has to show, but taking or licensing them is yours.

Compared with the Business Website.

Price

Starter £995. Business Website £1,995. Both are final prices.

Pages

Five, against up to ten core pages. Privacy and cookie pages are extra to both and count towards neither.

The words

You write them and I edit, against me writing them from a commercial discovery session.

Discovery

A 45-minute scoping call, against full commercial discovery and a review of three relevant local competitors.

Content you manage

Fixed pages, against one CMS collection with up to four launch entries — projects, case studies or a similar list you keep updated.

Revisions

One consolidated round, against two.

After launch

Full checks before launch and 30 days’ support on both. The 90-day review is on the Business Website only.

Timescale

About two to three weeks once your content is with me. The Business Website runs longer, because full discovery and the copywriting happen before the build starts.

Ongoing

Essential Care at £39/month, or Website Care at £99/month. Either plan can go with either build.

If you outgrow it.

The Starter is built in the same system as everything else I make, so adding pages, adding a CMS collection or moving up to the full scope later is adding to what you have rather than starting again.

What that costs depends on what you want adding, and I’ll quote it in writing at the time. I’d rather quote it properly than guess at it here.

If one page is enough.

There’s a One Page website at £495: a single page carrying what you do, your proof, the area you cover and how to reach you. It suits a business with one thing to say that needs to look credible and be easy to contact — and it only works if your words and photographs are ready before the build starts.

Not sure which of the four fits? Send me your website, or tell me what you do, and I’ll tell you straight — including if the answer is that you don’t need a new one.

You own it.

Exactly as on the Business Website, and the price makes no difference to it. You own the domain, the approved copy, your supplied images and the finished website. The domain always sits in your own registrar account. I never hold it.

While a care plan is active the project is managed in my workspace. It transfers to you within ten working days of a request, once outstanding invoices are paid. Without a care plan it transfers at launch.

Essential Care

£

39

/mo

Optional. Three-month minimum from launch, then rolling monthly with 30 days’ notice. The lighter of the two plans: it keeps the site up, current and working.

What owners usually ask.

How good does my copy have to be?

Rough is fine. Bullet points, a voice note typed up, an old brochure — I need the facts and your way of saying them, not finished paragraphs. I’ll cut it, order it and tighten it. What I can’t do is invent what your business does, or decide which services matter most to you.

Do you guarantee rankings, enquiries or bookings?

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Rankings depend on your competitors and on Google. Enquiries and bookings depend on your prices, your area and how you follow them up. What I control is the site: how it’s structured, how fast it loads, how clearly it says what you do and how easy the next step is. That’s what I’ll do, and I’ll set up the tracking so you can see what actually happens rather than take my word for it.

Is this a template?

It’s a consistent set of page layouts, which is not the same thing. The building blocks are proven and reused — that’s why five pages costs £995 rather than four thousand. The structure, the words, the images and the order they appear in are yours. It will not look like the last one.

Can I edit it myself afterwards?

Not on the Starter — that’s the CMS collection, and it isn’t included. Small changes are what the 15 minutes a month in Essential Care is for. If editing your own content matters to you, say so early and we’ll look at the Business Website, where it’s included.

Want this scoped against your site?

Send me your website and I’ll come back with five practical observations before either of us talks about a project. Mention the Starter and I’ll tell you honestly whether it’s the right size for what you need.
